Admission Policies and Criteria

The Canadian Home Furnishings Market is strictly a TRADE EVENT for qualified retail buyers and industry professionals only and is not open to the public. Admission to Market is FREE, and by badge only. If you meet the admission criteria below, you may apply for a badge. All visitors must present a business card and valid photo identification on site.

 

ADMISSION CRITERIA

Admission is strictly reserved for furniture industry professionals in the following categories: furniture, bedding, lighting, and decorative accessories. This includes furniture stores, decor and design stores, architects, interior designers and decorators, and anyone else who can show that the nature of his or her business involves buying or selling furniture, lighting or accessories for resale purposes.

 

BADGES: To obtain a badge, you must present company and buyer or other industry professional identification, both of which show an affiliation with home furnishings, stores, design, gifts and accessories or purchasing. Photo id is also required.


Acceptable types of company identification include copies of: retail sales tax/vendor permit or business license showing ties to the furniture industry or several recent invoices (within 6 months) from industry manufacturers for goods purchased at wholesale in quantity. BUYER BADGES WILL ONLY BE GIVEN TO INDIVIDUALS WHO CAN PROVIDE THIS TYPE OF IDENTIFICATION. Other furniture industry professionals will be permitted as long as they can prove they are affiliated with the home furnishings industry along with corresponding photo id.

 

Acceptable types of buyer or industry professional identification include copies of: imprinted, personalized business card with applicant's name and accompanying photo id card (health card or driver's licence).

 

GENERAL ADMISSION POLICIES AND RESTRICTIONS

  • Consumers are not admitted to the show
  • Visitors are required to wear their badges at all times as they tour the International Centre
  • No admission outside the official dates and times

 

No persons under the age of 16 are permitted on the Market floor with the exception of nursing infants under the age of 3 months, who must remain in parents' arms at all times. Strollers are not permitted on the Market floor (licensed childcare is available at the International Centre). All of these rules apply to exhibitors as well.

 

Cameras and other photographic equipment are not allowed at the Market, except those used by journalists for professional purposes. The International Centre is a non-smoking facility under Mississauga's Smoke–Free–By–Law and smoking is strictly prohibited. Those contravening the Smoke–Free–By–Law are subject to a fine of up to ,000. Please help us to maintain an atmosphere conductive to good health for everyone.
